Hello Everyone -
A few years ago, I went fishing with my father and cousin to do some crappie fishing. We fished the Mud Hole near Coldwater, Mississippi, just off Hwy 51. The Mud Hole is an oxbowl of the ColdWater River and is pretty shallow with only a few scattered deep holes and channels, but this place has some really big crappie in it.
This day was cloudy and warm for a November day. We fished from about 6 am to about 5 pm and had only managed to catch 4 crappie. Now I know that this is not what would be considered a very productive trip, but I caught 2 of the biggest crappie of my life and that alone was amazing.
The first crappie that I caught was a crappie weighing in at 3lbs 8 ozs and even better was the second crappie that weighed in at an even 5 lbs. The worse thing was that before the day of fishing even started I agreed to add any fish that I might catch to the annual fish fry and my dad made my keep my word, but not before I had my picture taken holding the 2 crappie.
