My husband prefers to use live bait. He has tons of artificial bait, but rarely uses them.
I'm trying to figure out why he'd spend the money on something he's not going to use.
What do you use when fishing, and why do you prefer that?

Live bait seems to work best, as it is something the fish might be used to seeing in their environment. However, many fishermen do have a favorite type of artificial bait, also.

I rarely see a professional using live bait, almost always using a favorite jig or something. I wonder what they know that we don't. LOL

I prefer using artificial, so I can (hopefully) get more than one use out of it. It seems like every time I use live bait, the fish will take it then go and spit the hook!

The fish don't ever eat your artificial bait?

Artificial does seem like it would be more cost effective. And, at least you aren't killing anything when you use it. ;) I just can't bet past having to spear the poor cricket, worm or minnow. I can almost hear them cry out in pain.
