I live in central Jersey, but most of my FW fishing is done in upstate New York, New Jersey, and PA, and due to the way our society has mishandled chemical waste, and some even more nefarious substances, humans are limited to eating no more than one freshwater fish, caught in any of these areas, or any area north of these, how could we let this happen?
I do agree with catch and release but it should be a choice not a necessity!

How could we let this happen? Capitalism and industrialization, unfortunately.
I do agree it is a problem, though. There is a creek near me that is wonderful for fishing, but you wouldn't want to eat any fish you catch due to possible contaminants.

OMG. I don't think I could handle that! Our limits are pretty lenient here. One person is allowed to catch enough to feed our 6 person family. That is just terrible that things have gotten that bad. I feel sorry for you.. I don' t know what I would do without my fish :)
