What is everyone's favorite brand of freshwater fishing rod? I use a Shimano rod that I think I got from walmart... but I like it!

In all honesty...the cheapest! I've broken a few rods one way or another, hehe. One time the rod split in half as I was casting it.

I've had good luck with Bass Pro's store brands. They've got some great quality rods for the price.

I really like 1-pc rods; they have great sensitivity.

Are 1pc rods much more expensive than multi-piece rods? With my track record, I think I would be better off with one of those. ;)

Well, it depends. In general, 1-pc tend to be higher priced because they're generally made from higher quality blanks. They're aimed at the more serious fisherman who is willing to deal with the less convenient 1-pc rod.

Eagle Claw featherlight. It is my very favorite. I landed an 18incher on that baby. I have not topped it since. Fenwick is another I truley love.:D

Fenwick makes a great rod! I've owned a couple, & they're really top-notch. I snapped the tip of one off in a screen door & almost cried.

I'm still using my Mother's Day present from 3 years ago...Zebco rod and reel. :) We've had to fix the tip since my step-son tried to close it in the car door...I was sooooo mad!!! LOL. B/f did a great job and I'm still using it today.
Can't say that I've tried many others since I was a kid.

My husband personally prefers Quantum. I prefer Shakespeare's. You can get them both at Wal-Mart reasonably priced. All in all though.. a rod's just a rod. In my honest opinion, I think the reel is what counts! ;)
