OK, this is a real shot in the dark, but does anyone know of any fishing resorts/cottages that are wheelchair-accessible? My son, who'll be 10 this summer, uses a wheelchair. Right now, he's light enough to throw over my shoulder, but I'd like to find a place to accomodate him in the future...

I did a quick Google search and found what appears to be a useful link:
http://www.sportsmansresource.com/fishingonwheels/

I'm not sure which areas of the country you would like to fish at, but this might be a good start. Hope that helps!

They do have a link to a camp in Ontario! Thanks for the help!

I have never heard of that before, but it does sound like it should be around for all camps and fishing areas.

Well, that would be nice, but it's not likely anytime soon - especially outside of the States.

No problem! I'm glad there is an acessible fishing camp in a location you'd like to go to. :)

We have a 17 month old son who will require a wheelchair when he grows enough that I can't carry him anymore. After many hours of research I was devastated to find out that there are no places within 300 miles of us that are handicap accessible.. How sorry is that? I just hate it.. In fact, I am writing a letter to the forestry department to see if they will forward it to some of the area sites and see what they can get done.
