North Park Lake gave up a fine fish Wednesday afternoon. According to North Park Bait and Tackle, 14-year-old Tyler Wild was fishing by the boathouse when he reeled in a 5.5-pound, 20-inch largemouth bass.

The fishing at Keystone State Park lake has been on the slow side, but anglers have been getting a few largemouth bass and bluegills on rubber worms and other soft plastic baits.

At Pymatuning Lake, walleyes have been relatively hard to come by, though the vast majority of the fish being caught have been nice, with most of them well over the legal size minimum.

The Beaver River continues to run a bit high and muddy, so anglers have been having a little trouble getting into fish consistently, though those targeting the area around New Brighton Dam have been picking up a few walleyes.

The Monongahela River has likewise been high and muddy as of late, making for tough fishing conditions.

At Lake Erie, the yellow perch have really turned on, with limits becoming increasingly common. A good number of fish in the 10- to 12-inch range have been showing up, too. The best fishing has been in 52 feet of water north of Walnut Creek and north of the Point at Presque Isle.

Presque Isle Bay, meanwhile, continues to give up lots of bass for those fishing along the North and South Piers.

Anglers fishing the Yough River from shore at Buena Vista, like 16-year-old Karley Pulkownik, have been getting smallmouth bass. A few walleyes have been reported caught from the river closer to Connellsville, too.

Anglers are reporting catching some nice crappies at the U.S. Army Corps' Mahoning Creek Lake in Armstrong County.

At Glendale Lake in Prince Gallitzin State park, walleyes and small panfish have been providing some action, according to Fish and Boat Commission reports.

The arts and crafts festival over the holiday weekend limited fishing pressure at Upper and Lower Twin Lakes, and reports of catches were consequently spotty.

At Yellow Creek Lake in Indiana County, anglers continue to get bass and northern pike on shiners, though most of the pike are shorter than legal size.

Keystone Lake has given up a few muskies in recent weeks, along with some nice bass.

Cross Creek Lake has seen a good bit of fishing pressure recently, but bass have been hard to find. The majority of those who are catching fish are using live minnows for bait, according to Fish and Boat Commission reports.

The Conemaugh River has been giving up some nice channel catfish. One angler this past weekend also reeled in an 11-pound flathead.

Boat traffic was relatively light on the Allegheny River over the holiday weekend, and just a few of those who were fishing reported getting walleyes and smallmouth bass.

At High Point Lake and Lake Somerset, catches have been sporadic, with the best of what action there is coming in the evening.
