BLACK BAYOU — Bream are bedded and hitting popping bugs, crickets and worms. Bass are fair fishing around the grass fishing with buzz baits. Crappie are fair around the grass beds on shiners or jigs.

CANEY LAKE — Bass in the 8 pound range have been caught on Carolina-rigged finesse worms and topwater lures. Crappie are around green tops in 10-15 foot water and are hitting shiners and jigs. Chinquapins are ranging from shallow to 12-14 feet deep and hitting cold worms. Catfish to 10 pounds are biting liver and cold worms fished on the bottom in 9-12 foot water.

CHENIERE LAKE — Bass are best early and late on topwaters and June bug worms. Crappie are fair on Beetle Spins. Bream fishing is good on small spinners, crickets and worms.

LAKE CLAIBORNE — Bream fishing is good on the shallow beds fishing crickets and worms. Stripers continue to school and are best trolling white bucktails. Catfishing is good tight-lining night crawlers down near the spillway. Bass are fair. Grand opening for Kel’s Cove will be tomorrow starting at 11 am. Gospel music, barbecue plates, free drinks and give-aways. Come support Tim and Kelly Lofton, new owners of the marina which was formerly Parden’s Paradise.

LAKE D’ARBONNE — Bass fishing has been best at night fishing black spinner baits and plastic worms. Bream and catfish are good with some really big bream caught on worms and crickets off the banks. Crappie are fair fishing the Bobby Garland Blue Thunder and Electric Chicken jigs and shiners 10-15 feet deep in the sloughs.

OUACHITA RIVER — The river is on a slow fall and fishing is steadily improving. Lots of bream are being caught in the river lakes, Bass fishing has been good in the lakes fishing spinners and topwaters while the crappie are turning it on in the bayou and river lakes on Blue Thunder, Electric Chicken and Skunk jigs.

LAKE POVERTY POINT — Bream fishing has been fair to good on worms and crickets. Catfish are biting night crawlers and cut shad. Bass are fair on the Baby Brush Hog, June Bug color. Crappie are slow.

LAKE ST. JOHN — Bream are on the beds and hitting worms and crickets. Lots of catfish are being caught on a variety of baits. Bass are fair on topwaters and crank baits. Crappie are slow.

LAKE YUCATAN — No report….high water.
