BERRYESSA: Bass are moving into shallow water. Best approaches are with rip baits or deep diving crank baits. Trout bite remains slow. 707-451-1199, 916-502-3474.
BON TEMPE/LAGUNITAS: Lake Lagunitas received 500 pounds of trout last Thursday. Bon Tempe was planted with 1,000 pounds of trout the week before. 415-945-1194.
CAMANCHE: Trout fishing prospects are better than OK but not quite great. Some anglers report limits while others are having a hard time getting a bite. Early morning or late afternoon are best times to fish. Use Rapalas, Power Bait, Power Worms or night crawlers. 209-763-5915, 209-763-5166.
CHABOT: Trout fishing remains good. Two 11-pound trout were caught last week at Raccoon Point, where it has been shoulder-to-shoulder. Indian Cove and the dam offer more peaceful alternatives. 510-247-2526.

DEL VALLE: The Marina and east side provide best shore fishing for trout. Boaters go to the upper end of the Narrows. Crappie bite remains good at the mouth of Swallow Bay. 925-449-5201.

LOS VAQUEROS: A plant of 1,200 pounds of trout goes in Friday and some will be trophy sized. Big winds since Monday have kept people away. 925-371-2628.
PARKWAY: Best baits for trout have been chartreuse, white, yellow or rainbow Power Bait offered in the back cove or from either side of the peninsula. Catfish bite has been fair. 408-629-9111.
PARDEE: The lake opens Friday at 6 a.m. Gate opens at 5 a.m. and the marina opens at 6 a.m. Plants are planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 209-772-8108.

SAN PABLO RESERVOIR: Lake opens Friday at 6:30 a.m. The lake has been planted with more than 18,000 pounds of trout from 1 to 2 pounds. 510-223-1661.
SHADOW CLIFFS: East Bay Regional Parks and the DFG planted 1,550 pounds of trout this week. Given this lake doesn't get muddy, this is a good bet during the rain. 510-544-3230.
UVAS: Creature baits get bass. Jigs or minnows attract crappie. 408-463-0711.

EEL: The river is blown out and it will take some time for it to be fishable. South Fork will be out for some time. 707-923-2533.
GUALALA: The river is blown out. Give it four to five days to settle. The Garcia fished well on Tuesday before getting blown out. Keep an eye on these rivers next week. 707-884-4247.
MAD: Steelhead bite is slow as the river dropped to 400 cfs. The rain blew it up and fresh fish might enter. 707-826-7201.
RUSSIAN: The flow doubled from Monday to Tuesday and the river is blown out. It might take a week to round back into shape. So far 800 steelhead have returned to the Dry Creek Hatchery. 707-869-2156.
SACRAMENTO (Lower): Trout numbers have been low but size has been good. A lot are in the mid-20-inch range. There were spring hatches when the weather was warm. Fishing should improve as the weather settles. 1-800-670-4448, 530-222-3555.
