Lake Odessa (Louisa): Odessa remains flooded. All boat ramps and the Toolesboro road are closed.
Lake Darling (Washington): The rain has made the lake muddy and has kept anglers away. Look for some good catfishing up in Honey Creek, upstream of where it enters the lake.
Lake Belva Deer (Keokuk): Fishing remains slow this week with the weather keeping most of the anglers away.
Lake Geode (Henry): Anglers are catching catfish below the spillway as the Skunk River is backing up the creek there. Anglers are also catching catfish up in the stream at the upper end of the lake. On the lake itself, anglers are picking up some nice bass.
Lake Rathbun (Appanoose): Crappies have been biting on minnows fished under slip bobbers and on jig and minnow combinations. Try different depths until you find the fish. The lake is 10 feet above normal pool and the crappies are spread out with all the flooded vegetation and trees along the shoreline. Walleyes have been hitting on night crawlers drifted or trolled along rocky drop-offs and underwater islands. Channel catfish are hitting on night crawlers. Some of the boat ramps are closed due to the high lake level. The high water boat ramps remain open.
Lake Sugema (Van Buren): Bluegills continue to move into shallow water and are hitting on small jigs and night crawlers fished under a bobber. Largemouth bass have been hitting on Carolina rigs and on top-water lures in the morning and evening.
Lake Wapello (Davis): The lake is approximately 16 feet below normal and the boat ramps are not usable. The lake has been opened to promiscuous fishing. Anglers are catching channel catfish and some bluegills from the shoreline. Come prepared as muddy conditions persist.
Lake Keomah (Mahaska): Bluegills have been biting on small jigs and night crawlers fished around shoreline structure and fishing piers. Night crawlers under slip bobbers have also been a productive way to catch bluegill. Largemouth bass have been hitting on spinner baits and crankbaits fished around the edge of the jetties and other partially submerged habitat. Channel catfish have been biting on chicken liver and night crawlers.
Lake Macbride (Johnson): The reservoir is backing up into the lake now. Water levels are expected to rise 2 to 3 feet. Boat ramps may be closing soon and boat traffic could be shut off. Bank fishing will still be available. Some crappies still remain in the shallows along with largemouth and Kentucky spotted bass.
Diamond Lake (Poweshiek): Despite fluctuating and turbid water, some channel catfish are being caught. Cut bait or night crawlers have been working well, especially toward evening.
Hannen Lake (Benton): The park is closed but the lake can still be accessed from the boat ramp to the beach. Some channel catfish are being caught now.
Kent Park (Johnson): Bluegills are being caught in the shallows on redworms and small jigs. Channel catfish are hitting on stink bait and shad guts, especially in the evening.
