BLACK BAYOU – The water is still high but some bass have been caught fishing jigs around the trees while a few crappie are biting on jigs around old duck blinds.

CANEY LAKE – Yellow bass are starting to hit jigging spoons on the bottom in 20 foot water. Bass to 9 pounds have been caught fishing finesse worms and tail spinners around underwater humps and the deeper boat docks. Crappie are fair with better catches made during the afternoons on shiners. Some chinquapins are being caught on cold worms fished on the bottom on deep flats.

CHENIERE LAKE – There is still too much water in the lake and there are no fishing reports.

LAKE CLAIBORNE – Bass fishing has been fair in the lake with small to medium-sized fish hitting plastic worms. Below the spillway, good catches of bream, crappie, stripers and catfish are being made in the bayou fishing from the banks or using small boats..

LAKE D’ARBONNE – According to some, crappie fishing is as good now as it has ever been this time of year. Fishermen are catching limits quickly with bigger fish coming from the deep sloughs while numbers are being caught in the channels fishing shiners or jigs 18-20 feet deep in 24-32 foot water. Most are being caught on Bobby Garland Blue Thunder, Stringer Shad, Pink Panther and Slab Buster jigs in black with silver glitter tail. Bass are hitting Brush Hogs and jigs along channel edges and the deep sloughs. No report on bream but catfishing is good on cold worms.

OUACHITA RIVER – The river is on a slow fall but still very high. Some are catching bass wading the flooded road beds and fishing with jigs and Rat-L-Traps.

LAKE POVERTY POINT – Crappie fishing is good fishing jigs and shiners in the oxbows and around the boat slips. No report on bass, bream or catfish.

LAKE ST. JOHN – Yo-yos baited with shiners are taking lots of catfish while both crappie are catfish are being caught on yo-yos baited with shiners. Bass fishing has been fair to good on jigs.

LAKE YUCATAN – No report.
