Favorite time to fish

What's your favorite time of day to go fishing? We generally try to go early in the morning, but not TOO early. ;) When do you generally hit the water?

Evenings. I'm not a morning person.

I'm not really a morning person either, so I prefer dusk. As long as I have some heavy-duty bug spray, of course! I wouldn't rule out a few early morning (not too early) fishing trips, though.

Yeah, bugs ruin the outdoors where I live, too. Mississippi in the summer can be bad.

In the spring, too - because the gnats are out. By the time the gnats die, the mosquitos take over.

The things we have problems with in New York are mosquitoes and black flies. Super annoying, and really distracting when you are trying to concentrate on fishing! The only good thing is that they can draw the fish out from hiding when it's feeding time.

You know, it's really a shame you can't catch mosquitos and flies and use them as bait! :D That's one of the things that "bug" me when I fish, too. Hehe

My husband's not a morning person either, and can easily sleep in until almost noon. But if you mention you want to go fishing, he's up with the roosters!

We go camping every weekend during the summer where my boyfriend has a trailer. We go freshwater fishing at a tiny pond where I love to catch catfish and trout. We like to go in the evening... a lot of people are around there during the morning and the day, and it gets noisy and too difficult to catch anything.

I've always been an evening & night fisherman. It just works out better logistically.

I love fishing in the evening. I am a person of solitude too, so whenever no one's at the pond, I'm always game to go.

It really depends on what we are fishing for. If we go catfishing we go in the middle of the night. Tot lines we run before sunrise, and evenings if we are just going to do a "mix" of fishing.
