CENTRALBASTROP

Water clear. Black bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on live bait, frozen shrimp, liver, and bloodbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN

Water clear; 64 degrees; 2.59 feet low. Black bass are good on white/chartreuse 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits, pumpkin/chartreuse tail Whacky Sticks, and albino/blue soft jerkbaits along drop-offs of points and pockets of creeks in 4-8 feet. Striped bass are fair to good tight lining live bait and vertically jigging silver 1/4 oz. Perk Minnows and pearl 1/4 oz. Blade Runners from Flag Island to the Willows in 28-35 feet. White bass are fair to good on 2-inch Spoiler Shads, Bleeding Shiner Tiny Traps, and live minnows in the upper end of the lake in 15-25 feet. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Channel catfish are good on live bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines.

CANYON LAKE

Water clear; 63 degrees; 0.06 feet low. Black bass are good on jerkbaits, 1/4 oz. white Terminator spinnerbaits, pumpkin Whacky Sticks, and albino soft plastic jerkbaits along stickups in 3-8 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are good on Snap Back smoke/red tubes, root beer/green flake 3-inch curl tail grubs, and white 4-inch Whacky Sticks over rock piles and on ledges in 12-25 feet. Crappie are fair on live minnows upriver in 5-12 feet. Channel catfish are fair upriver. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines.

COLORADO RIVER

(At Colorado Bend State Park) Water murky. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp.

FAYETTE

Water lightly stained; 68 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon, watermelon red, and watermelon black/green Wacky Worms and Senkos in 2-10 feet, and on white and white/chartreuse spinnerbaits, and on pumpkinseed Dead Ringer worms along the outside edges of breaks. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut shad and shrimp over baited holes.

LBJ

Water stained; 64 degrees; 0.07 feet low. Black bass are good on 1/4 oz. blue/white Terminator spinnerbaits, green pumpkin Whacky Sticks, and soft plastic jerkbaits in 3-6 feet. Striped bass are fair on 2-inch Spoiler Shads and 1/4 oz. white bucktails early and at night. White bass are fair on Spoiler Shads, chrome/blue Tiny Traps, and 1/4 oz. Blade Runners early. Crappie are good on 1/32 oz. Curb’s crappie jigs and live minnows in 2-4 feet. Channel catfish are good on live bait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines.

SOMERVILLE

Water murky; 67 degrees; 0.16 feet high. Black bass to 7.5 pounds are fair on minnows and shad. Hybrid striper are good on shad and sliver spoons. White bass are good on shad. Crappie are fair but mostly small on minnows. Channel and blue catfish to 45 pounds are fair on stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS

Water clear; 65 degrees; 1.45 feet low. Black bass are good on grubs, flukes, and watermelon lizards and worms in 4-12 feet. Striped bass are fair on crankbaits, grubs, and minnows in 10-30 feet. White bass are good on chrome crankbaits, white jigs, and minnows in 5-15 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs in 5-15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and cut shad in 20-30 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

SOUTHAMISTAD

Water clear; 64 degrees; 8.42 feet low. Black bass are good on green tubes, Senkos, and spinnerbaits in 12-42 feet. Striped bass are good on redfins. White bass are slow. Crappie to 2.5 pounds are good on minnows and trolling hellbender crankbaits. Catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexican fishing license whether fishing or not. Mexican boat permits are no longer required.

BRAUNIG

Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are good along shorelines and structure. Striped bass are fair to good on chicken livers and Tony Accetta spoons. Redfish are good on live perch and tilapia. Channel catfish are excellent on shrimp, liver, and stinkbait. Blue catfish are fair on chicken livers, shrimp, stinkbait, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.

CALAVERAS

Water stained; 70 degrees. Black bass are good on soft plastic worms and grubs around reed beds along shorelines. Striped bass are good on chicken livers, shad, and spoons. Redfish are good on perch and shrimp on the bottom. Catfish are excellent on nightcrawlers, shad, and liver in 10-20 feet.

CHOKE CANYON

Water lightly stained; 73 degrees; 1.33 feet low. Black bass to 8 pounds are fair on chartreuse/white spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Carolina rigged soft plastics. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnow tipped jigs. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on punchbait in 10-12 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

COLETO CREEK

Water clear; 73 degrees (80 degrees at discharge); 0.45 feet low. Black bass to 9 pounds are good on soft plastics and spinnerbaits in 6610 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 10612 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are fair on perch, liver, and cheesebait in 12615 feet. Yellow catfish to 8 pounds are fair on trotlines baited with live perch in 12615 feet.

FALCON

Water lightly stained; 75 degrees. Black bass are excellent on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits and Carolina rigged soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow. Mexican fishing licenses are required to fish Mexican waters. SOUTHEASTCONROE

Water clear; 0.05 feet high. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/green spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and soft plastics in 5-12 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and Curb’s crappie jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp.

LIVINGSTON

Water stained; 65 degrees; 1.01 feet high. Black bass are excellent on spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are excellent on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN

Water stained; 68 degrees; 0.06 feet low. Black bass are good on Horny Toads and Super Flukes around shoreline grass in 1-3 feet, watermelon red Trick Worms and Senkos around hay grass in 4-6 feet, and Carolina rigged lizards and French fries around scattered hydrilla on main lake flats. Crappie are fair on live shiners and albino shad jigs around willows in 4 – 6 feet, and trolling black/chartreuse roadrunners over hydrilla in 6 – 10 feet. Catfish are good on juglines baited with prepared bait.
