| Fishing does not only depend on what rod and reel to use, or what style of casting will be done as well as what type of game fish to catch. It also depends on the speed and comfort of the boat to be used. It may be a high powered one, semi-V boats made of aluminum or fiberglass, a jon boat or probably a canoe.
Bass Boats -Bass boats are the most comfortable and convenient to use. They are built with fiberglass materials with a triangular shaped hull that provides the stability you need to stand up and fish.
The sides are low to facilitate easy grasping of rod even while sitting. Most of these types of boats have a front desk that is elevated, carpeted floor to minimize sound, storage compartments, attachments and equipment for trolling and a flasher.
Semi-V Boats -Semi-V Boats are named such due to the V-shape design of the bow and a flat at the stern. The V-shape parts the waves while its stability is due to its flat bottom. It can be made out of aluminum or fiberglass.
Aluminum semi-Vs Aluminum semi-Vs are lightweight, with the bow riding the waves instead of parting them, making the ride rough. Fiberglass semi-Vs have more weight which makes it a smooth ride and are less influenced by the wind. They are more quiet than aluminum but costs more although less durable.
Jon Boats -Jon boats are stable and lightweight boats made best for river fishing. Since rivers do not have many boat landings, this fourteen foot boat is carried to the water by the fishermen. An outboard motor with six horsepower is used for speed.
Canoes - To get into those hard-to-reach places in the water, canoes are the boats preferred since they are durable and light enough to paddle and carry, aside from being cheap. A motor can be used on the side but most of the time, they paddle their way through. A side mount bracket will usually take a 2 to 4 horsepower motor. Even a small electric
motor will push a canoe at a surprising speed.
